ITOHAN

ITOHAN

Warning: This is an intimate story. if you know you won’t be comfortable, please don’t read this. thanks 🫰🏽

The most delightful sound I have ever heard in my life is her laughter. I cannot describe it in words, but it is like the gentle breeze that blows through a field of grass. It is a subtle, soothing sound that fills me with peace.

I stole another glance at her once more, hoping to catch a glimpse of the most perfect smile in the universe. It was everything to me. The way her lips cutely stretched across her face, forming a curve unlike any other I had ever seen, down to the pearly white teeth that peeked out. She was perfect. I watched as she turned to her friends and they all giggled amongst themselves.

She subconsciously covered her mouth with her hand and even though she had the most prettiest fingers I’ve ever seen, I wanted nothing more than to whisper in her ears and tell her how beautiful she looks when she smiles. I’ll let my breath tickle her earlobe as I tell her why she doesn’t need to shy away when she smiles, there is absolutely no need to cover it.

As if on cue, she glances at my table, and then quickly looks away. I would battle with the devil himself if it meant she would look into my eyes for longer. I would give anything to make that happen.

While I was deep in thought, my friend jabbed me. “One day, this girl will report you to the authorities. See the way you are looking at her.”

I continued to look at her from the corner of my eye and shook my head at my friend.

“Man, this girl always messes with my head”.

“Then go and talk to her. Stop being a coward” he retorted.

I fiddled with the pen in my hand, wondering why I had never worked up the courage to speak to her. It’s not time yet, I decided. Just like every other time before now. When the time is right, I’ll know.

Soon, the class ended, and everyone began to leave the classroom in a hurry. I remained in my seat, still fiddling with my pen and thinking about what I would eat before returning at night to study.

“Guy, I’m leaving. Are you going to stay here until night?” I nodded.

“Okay, I’ll see you later. You’ll give me a tutorial later tonight, yeah? See you soon” He extended his hand to shake mine. I slapped his hand away and playfully glared at him. He laughed and said, “Okay, I’ll send Nkechi to bring you food later.” I smiled at him, and he patted me on the back before leaving the classroom with the others.

I glanced up at Itohan once more and noticed that she was standing alone at her desk, packing her books into her backpack. I wondered where her friends were since she was never alone without them. However, I was soon distracted by my thoughts and looked away from her. I opened my book to the first page and began to read.

I read and jotted down some things in my other book. This continued for a long time until it began to get very dark. I cussed in my head at Emeka, my friend for not sending me any food till now. I was tempted to pack up and leave, but I decided to read for a little longer. Thank goodness I did.

As I sat in the classroom, I heard footsteps approaching. The soft landing and the delayed drags told me it was a woman. I was happy, thinking Nkechi had finally brought the food. But when I saw who it was, my hunger instantly dissipated. It was my Itohan.

As I gazed at her, my heart raced, unsure of how to compose myself. Alone with Itohan in a dimly lit classroom, my breath caught as she wore nothing more than a short and tank top. The beauty I once appreciated now transformed; she seemed like an actual angel.

My gaze traced her from her head to her chest, finding her not as busty as I’d imagined, yet her babies were full and enticing. Almost as if they were begging to be released from her top. Moving to her thighs, I never knew they were thick. I saw an unexpected thickness that her previous outfits hadn’t done any justice. My eyes lingered on her flawless, fair legs, devoid of any scars. All I wanted to do was spend the night caressing them. My best friend down there agreed with me. It was almost as if it wanted to see for itself as it started to rise in a threatening way. Thank goodness I wore baggy pants that day.

Reluctantly tearing my gaze from Itohan’s figure, I refocused on her face.  Maybe my eyes were tricking me but I could swear she smirked at me. Quickly morphing into a friendly smile, she playfully waved her fingers at me in greeting. “Hi, Tobi”. She chimed. Responding with a shy smile, I greeted back, “Hi”. She then teased me “This one that you are here alone today. I hope I’m safe”. She asked with a hint of shyness in her tone and face but it was hard to tell, given her swift changes in expression.

Rather than reciprocating with a cheeky response, I opted for a composed one. “If anyone should be concerned about safety, it might be me, considering I’m always around here. What brings you to an empty place like this at this hour?” I inquired. She explained, “Oh! I overheard your conversation with Emeka earlier, and I was hoping to catch you alone.”

“Alone?” I asked, perplexed. “See why I said I should be asking you instead if I am safe”

She laughed and my heart skipped three beats. I am making her smile, that’s cool. I guess.

“You shouldn’t be scared actually, I just needed tutorials on today’s lecture and as the golden boy of the class, I wanted you to be the one to assist me ”

“Oh!”

I say in defeat. I wasn’t exactly sure what I wanted her to say but it wasn’t that. Anyways, I said.

“That’s not a problem but we could also do this during the day. Maybe in the library, preferably. I don’t think you should be out this late”. I told her.

She smiled at me, ever so innocently before gracefully making her way to my desk. Dropping her book on the table beside me, she settled into her seat. I watched her lips curl into a shy smile, I couldn’t help but wonder if Itohan was shy. Of me? Titling her body towards me, she caught me off guard as a gentle peck landed softly on my cheek.

“But would I be able to do this then?” she asked and I froze.

Who is this girl and what is she doing to me? My best friend wanted to make the same inquiries as it stirred once again.

I slowly turned to her and called her name, still shocked. I had to be sure it was the same person I was seeing.

“Itohan?” I called

“Yes?” she answered. This time she dragged my eyes to her fingers as she idly played with them.

I couldn’t pinpoint where the confidence came from but I embraced it. With two fingers beneath her chin, I gently tilted her face towards me.

“What was that about?” I inquired, gazing first at her lips, then at her face.

She removed her face from my grasp and resumed her original posture.

“Sorry, I let myself be vulnerable,” she said in a quiet voice.

“Okay?” I encouraged her to say more.

“Truth is, I like you, Tobi. I always have”. Her voice was so quiet that if the classroom hadn’t been silent, I wouldn’t have heard her.

“You what?” I asked her, my heart pounding.

“I like like you” She finally looked up at me, locking her gaze on mine. “I don’t know what love is. I have never been in love, but I know that love is more than just feelings. It’s something deeper. Something I haven’t experienced with you yet. But I do know that I like you. A lot. I have since our first year, but I didn’t know how to approach you. I only worked up the courage to come now because I see the way you look at me, and I think you like me too.”

I’ve known I loved her; it’s a feeling that has always been there. Yet, this revelation overwhelmed me.  At that moment, the intensity was too much, and I found myself yearning to escape. I wished she hadn’t expressed it all. I wished I had taken the initiative, not out of cowardice, but because now all I craved was to kiss her. Show her just how much I have longed to be the one occupying her thoughts, to be her confidant, to be there for her, and most importantly,  to reveal how much I’ve yearned for her.

Without second thoughts, I slowly pulled her in. I hesitated for a moment when her eyes reflected a mix of vulnerability and anxiety. Our eyes locked. The air shimmered with a newfound intimacy as the weight of unspoken feelings dissolved.

As the world around us seemed to fade into a gentle hush, I slowly closed the distance between us. The warmth of her breath lingered in the small space that separated our lips, teasing with the promise of something long wanted. A tender smile played on my lips and she mirrored it, echoing the shared heartbeat we both shared in the moment.

Finally, our lips met in a delicate dance, a union that spoke volumes of the emotions that had been concealed for far too long. The world ceased to exist in that brief, stolen moment, leaving only the soft cadence of our hearts echoing in the quiet night.

The first touch ignited a fire in me, it left in me a mark of desire. Her kiss was a sultry dance, each movement making me long for more.

It felt like an intoxicating blend of heat and fantasy, a sinfully delicious taste that sent shivers down my spine. The softness of her lips repeatedly met mine in a rhythm that seemed to synchronize with the pounding of our hearts. It wasn’t just a kiss, it was a sensual exploration, a meeting of desire that left no room for shyness.

I wanted more but I didn’t want to be forward, so I maintained a pace. Not until this girl slowly put her tongue in my mouth. I passionately yet subtly suckled on it. It tasted just like her breath. I didn’t know when I sighed in satisfaction. This made me draw her closer to me. I lifted her up and gently placed her on my thighs – making sure not to break the kiss. I felt her soft buttocks on my best friend and once again, the little guy wanted to have a feel too.

Soon, our tongues were fighting for dominance and this is by far the most sultry kiss I have ever had. There was no shyness, just two people pouring out their long-hidden emotions into each other. My kiss wasn’t just a revelation; it was a journey, stating how far I have come and how far I intend to go with her.

It was more than just a kiss, it was an assurance.

We instantly tore away from each other when we heard footsteps approaching the classroom. She immediately took her seat and I did the same. Soon, Nkechi entered the class with a basket in her hand. She halted halfway when she saw Itohan but her lips quickly formed into a smile.

“And I didn’t know you were here o. I would have brought extra food for you” she said.

Itohan smiled warmly at her and said “It’s fine, I was just about to leave”.

In your wildest dreams baby. About to leave where? Leave who?

I immediately intervened “It’s fine Nkechi, we will just share the one you brought”.

Nkechi smiled in satisfaction as she dropped the basket. “I have to leave now, it’s quite late. See you later Brother Tobi” She waved at us and left.

I looked at Itohan with a smile on my face. Despite being alone, she was still fiddling with her fingers and avoiding my gaze. I never knew she could be this shy.

This Edo girl stole my heart. I knew right there and then that I would give anything to never lose her again.

“I like you too, Itohan. I like you a lot”. I told her.

She finally looked up at me and there was so much sparkle in her eyes. My Twinkle twinkle little star.

“Thank you,” she said in a quiet voice once again.
