Hi, I’m Kanyin, your wife. I’m sure you already know that – silly me! I’m feeling a bit shy and unsure of what to write, but I’ve decided to dedicate this part of my blog to you, an open letter expressing my feelings. I don’t know if I have met you or I am yet to meet you but I hope you’re as happy as I am right now. As I write this, my heart is racing, a smile is on my face, and hope is etched into my very existence, hoping that at the end of each passing day, I have you.c
Be rest assured, you’ve married a lover girl. Yes, I act tough but I’m really just a big baby. I wear vulnerability on my sleeve, and I’m one of the most caring people you’ll ever meet. I’m as gentle as a dove, but I can also be very stubborn. So, please, if you ever have to scold me, do so with a gentle heart. But let’s shift the focus from me to you. I want to show you how much you mean to me and how intentional I am about us, my love.
I’m not a fan of endearments like “My love, my darling, honey.” I reserve those for everyone I genuinely love. For you, I want something different, something deeply personal. Maybe, over time, we’ll figure that out together.
Hey, I want you to know that I love you with the entirety of my existence. We may not be married yet, or we may not even know each other, but when I say you’re the most handsome man on earth, I mean it. When I praise you, know that it’s real. When I tell you that you’re my biggest achievement, know that I’ll never take it back. When I say I want to grow old with you, know that I’m praying for that to happen. I’ll give you all of me – my kindness, my affections. I’ll submit to you the crown of my head. I’ll give you all my loyalty, and if it means sacrificing all for you – well, I’ll give it a good thought (lol), but I will give you everything.
I’ll cherish every moment we share. And when I tell you ‘I love you’ and you ask me how much, I’ll fling my arms wide open, with a bright smile on my face, and I’ll tell you this much. But, of course, you’ll already know because you can see the truth in my eyes. You can see the sparkles in them, and you can feel how fast my heart beats when I say that. I hope our flames never die. I want to start and never end my exploration with you. Trust me; I haven’t tried many things yet, and I want you to be my first. I’ll be keeping them until I meet you. I love you now, and I will belong to you until my last breath.
